Bring your curiosity and an open mind for a week of gentle movement and exploration. Just by paying attention to ourselves and how we do what we do, we can feel more fluid and flexible, relaxed in our bodies and minds.
The Feldenkrais Method ® is a unique way to let go of old habits, to explore new ways of moving and being in order to realise our potential more fully, through gentle movement and directed attention. It is suitable for all ages and abilities. Based on principles of neuroscience, Feldenkrais works with the brain’s amazing capacity to change and adapt, allowing us to learn new ways of moving and being.
Group lessons and partner work will develop and deepen awareness of how you are in your body, how you move, and what you find easy or challenging. From there, we explore new movement patterns that may help you release muscle tension and stress, ease chronic pain, breathe more easily and feel more grounded, balanced and energised.
The movements take place lying down, sitting, standing and walking. Different areas and functions are explored in each session, including breathing, bending, twisting; the movement of our shoulders, neck and upper body, our spine, hips, pelvis and limbs. Gentle touch will also help develop our self-awareness.
