Insurance

You must be insured against sickness and its associated costs. A travel policy also covers you for losses and all the other usual risks, as well as having to cancel at short notice. A leaflet is available from us which contains details in this respect along with a promotion offered by Leisurecare for 7 days free cancellation cover to protect your holiday booking. You can use any insurer but don't delay in getting your policy, so that you are covered if it turns out that you can't go.  (Those living outside the UK should arrange insurance locally.)

We strongly advise that you also get a European Health Insurance Card. This covers the cost of actual medical treatment (not ambulances or the "hotel" costs of a hospital stay) and generally smoothes the way - a sort of "passport" to medical care. It is valid for a limited period, so please make sure it is up-to-date.
