Alone and in Community
Cortijo Romero is a smallish centre, with 20-30 guests most weeks, split between 2 retreats during the summer months. There is a friendly, intimate feel here, and although some people come with a partner or friend, many travel here alone and it’s a great place to do that. You’ll meet others, usually like-minded due to having chosen the same retreat – and if you want some space and solitude, the layout of the centre suits that too, with lovely gardens, an orchard, ancient olives and a meditation room all providing places to find a peaceful spot. The group, however, is central to the retreats, and for many it turns out to have been one of the most important aspects of their stay. For those who want to embrace community and meet others, the pool and surrounding area, as well as the dining area and the roof-top, provide more social and lively places where you can connect with the other guests on your retreat.
