We offer a wide range of holiday retreats but whichever you choose, there are many things that most weeks have in common.
All holidays are Saturday to Saturday, and most people arrive with our transfer service from Malaga in time for dinner and an introduction on Saturday evening.
All weeks centre around a holiday retreat. If you choose one of the Discovery or Being Here weeks, the week is likely to be easy-going and there may be a choice of sessions, or sessions you can drop in and out of.
By contrast, retreats that involve more focussed personal transformation will require all group members to attend each session. It's not only the retreat and facilitator that make for a powerful, transformative week, but the entire group too, as all participants create the experience together. Other holidays naturally involve more time spent out exploring the region, such as Walking and Photography weeks.
Main Retreat Sessions
Each retreat offers 18 – 20 hours of group time, spread over morning and afternoon sessions, and sometimes one or more evening sessions instead of in the afternoon.
Visiting the Region
Whichever you choose, each holiday includes a full day spent visiting the local area, travelling up into the mountains for a walk and a picnic, where during the summer months you may like to dive under a waterfall and swim in wild streams to cool off. You’ll stop off to enjoy the traditional ‘white villages’ that cling to the mountainsides, visually stunning and convivial places where you can taste, and buy if you wish, the famous hams of the region, as well as cheeses, wines and other local goods. This trip usually takes place on Tuesdays.
Our Local Market
On Thursday mornings, most weeks there is a large and lively local street market in Orgiva, which you can walk to, and where people often enjoy a coffee or beer in the town square, soaking up the Spanish atmosphere.
Yoga or Tai Chi
These are offered on alternating weeks, on most days before breakfast, as free, optional sessions. When the weather is suitable, which is most of the year, this takes place on the roof terrace, with its inspirational mountain views, where you really can ‘salute to the sun’!
Spanish Songs and Expressive Dance
These are offered as optional sessions (the Spanish songs performance is 7 euros).
